STREET FATHERS & STREET MOTHERS WE'RE HERE FOR YOU

For Youth. For Parents. For the Community.

Mission Statement

What we stand for

At Street Fathers Luton, our mission is to raise awareness about the dangers of youth violence and its impact on our communities, while offering real pathways to change.

We provide trusted, confidential support and tailored programmes that empower young people, fathers, and mothers alike. Through mentorship, skills development, and compassionate guidance, we aim to create safer streets, reconnect families, and help young people feel seen, supported, and secure in their future.

Community Engagement

We reach and connect young people with the care and services they need right where they are, raising awareness surrounding the dangers of youth violence and the negative impact it has on the community, whilst providing positive avenues for change and rehabilitation in a family-like safe environment. In a nutshell; we meet needs and provide opportunities. In the absence of opportunities, lies the best of potential. Lets not lose our young generation to gangs, crime, prisons, drugs, depression, mental health or idleness. Let's experience the full satisfaction it brings when we "Reach one teach one".

“One for all event”

🕊️ Remembering Ashraf Habimana 🕊️ Ashraf Habimana tragically lost his life on 29 September 2023, while waiting for a lift home from Luton Sixth Form College. His death shocked our community and highlighted the devastating reality of knife crime. An upcoming episode of 24 Hours in Police Custody explores the circumstances surrounding Ashraf’s death, examining the consequences of using zombie-style knives before they were banned in 2024. The documentary also powerfully shows the lasting impact this attack has had on Ashraf’s mother and family. Superintendent Alex House of Bedfordshire Police said: “This documentary offers a powerful and unflinching insight into the devastating reality of knife crime.” Ashraf’s story is a heartbreaking reminder of the urgent need to protect our young people, challenge violence, and continue working together to prevent further loss of life. Our thoughts remain with Ashraf’s family and loved ones. 💙 Ashraf Habimana Foundation Please see the link below and help support https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/fiona-namusoke?utm_term=krDww866W&utm_medium=FA&utm_source=WA #AshrafHabimana #KnifeCrimeAwareness #Luton #EndKnifeCrime #RememberAshraf #CommunitySafety

Yesterday Street Fathers Luton were proud to stand alongside Street Fathers London at the One For All event — a powerful day of unity, support, and collaboration within our communities. The event brought together amazing organisations and professionals, including social workers, The Teachers Surgery, Out of the Box, and Sen Bytes, all working towards the shared goal of supporting young people and families. It was inspiring to see so many people committed to making a difference, building connections, and creating positive pathways for the future. 💪🏽 Thank you to everyone involved for the warm welcome and for the vital work you continue to do. Together, we are stronger. 👊🏽 #StreetFathersLuton #StreetFathersLondon #OneForAll #CommunitySupport #StrongerTogether #MakingADifference

BEWARE – BE VIGILANT– BE PROTECTIVE Many parents are raising young children who have access to, and are capable of using, social media platforms and internet-enabled devices. With Christmas recently passed, it is likely that children who did currently own such devices may receive them as gifts. As parents, we naturally want to provide the best for our children and do not want them to feel excluded among their peers at school or college. While children may have a legitimate right to access these technologies, this access carries significant responsibility, particularly for parents and guardians. We have recently been made aware of a deeply concerning incident involving a young child using YouTube. During routine browsing, the child was prompted to download an application from an external website known as “Just Talk Kids.” Although the application appeared to be intended for children, the individual communicating with the child was, in fact, an adult. The situation escalated into serious online exploitation, where this individual allegedly offered the child virtual currency (“Rodbox,” believed to be spendable within the application) in exchange for engaging in inappropriate and exploitative acts on camera. These acts were recorded by a younger sibling and shared with the adult. Disturbingly, the adult also sent images of other children involved in similar activities to the child. Parents and guardians are strongly urged to remain vigilant and to actively monitor their children’s online activity. A quiet child behind a closed bedroom door should not automatically be assumed to be safe. Regular supervision, open communication, and age-appropriate discussions about online safety are essential. Please take the time to speak with your children about the dangers of online interactions and ensure appropriate safeguards and parental controls are in place. #streetfathers #safe #kids #life #love

Our Street Engagement Team was out on patrol this evening. ❄️ The cold weather meant the streets were quieter than usual, but we still had some great interaction with locals, including chatting with an up and coming street father who’s excited to get onboard with what we’re doing. All in all, a good and positive evening… and some of our team even bumped into Santa after patrol !🎅 Stay warm, everyone!

Street Fathers – OUR PURPOSE Street Fathers exists to provide a proactive, positive male presence in the lives of our children and the wider community. We are committed to being present, visible, and actively engaged with our young people—especially during times of crisis. Our mission is to deliver a structured, rapid response in the aftermath of serious or fatal incidents, offering immediate and ongoing support to affected families, friends, peer groups, and the broader community. We recognize that moments of trauma require not just reaction, but care, presence, and guidance. At the heart of our work is a deep commitment to: Finding, supporting, and nurturing young people, particularly those at risk or already affected by violence or disengagement. Empowering single mothers, ensuring they are heard, their concerns are validated, and that they feel supported in the shared effort to keep their children safe. Connecting young people with the services they need, through clear signposting and advocacy—whether it’s mental health support, education, employment opportunities, or mentorship. Providing a safe, family-like environment, where change, growth, and rehabilitation are possible. We offer not just support, but opportunity—real alternatives to street life. We believe that every young person deserves to feel safe, valued, and capable of achieving a better future. Street Fathers is here to stand in the gap, build trust, and walk alongside those who need us most.
